[comp.databases] Novell's XQL, how good is it?

Hello!
For a database-project on PC I am looking for an SQL like
Query - Language.
Since I have been using Novell's Btrieve for longer time, I think about
buying XQL from Novell.
Now: Is it really worth the money?
     Can I access SQL from within a C or C++ Program?
