[comp.databases] OODBMS products

djds@goanna.cs.rmit.oz.au (DARYL JOHN D'SOUZA) (02/21/91)

If anyone has information about (cheap) OODBMS products I would like
to hear about them. "Cheap" is relative of course, but I am looking
for something that an academic institution can afford; I am more
interested in the OO features and less concerned about performance
issues. One of the hardware platforms we are considering supports
Object Works, so I am particularlt interested in this one. We have
checked out ONTOS/GemStone, but the vendors do not seem to be interested
in the benefits of providing low-cost deals to academia!

Please send mail to me directly.
