And they ask me why I drink. Part II. Well, as one might have expected, the long-awaited upgrade has appeared on my desk at last. Just in time as well. Seems the bowling industry is taking turns for the worse. News has it that my buddy, Phil, just got laid off. He had been pin-setting at the local Bowl-A-Rama for 17 years and then boom! See ya! No warning. He came to work Monday morning to find his folding chair had been thrown out on the dumpster out back. Those damn Spalding automatic pin setters... Anyways...yes, I finally received them. Intact and ready to slap on the system. Rumor has it that it was all due to intense negotiations between my sidekick in San Diego and Oracle's DEC ULTRIX product line manager. Much thanks to this fine gent at Oracle for setting us all straight. It is effort such as this that makes a company worth its weight in gold. A galliant coupe indeed. Well, I'm off the computer room to hang the tapes. Hopefully the installation won't take too long. Gotta get home by 8:30. That's when Mr Ed comes on.
