Do any of the current crop of object-oriented DBMS's have a CLOS interface? A group I know of is seeking to integrate a set of hetrogenous design environments (tools and workstations), all working on the same design task. They are planning to integrate their work via a shared blackboard they hope to implement in an OODBMS. Other than the design, all they have in common is the CLOS language. Any ideas? Please respond via email: Thanks, -Ken Smith ksmith@cs.uiuc.edu

There are at least 3 Lisp compatible oodbms on the market, some also CLOS compatible. Symbolics, Inc. : Statice (Flavors, CLOS, Common Lisp) Eight New England Executive Park, East Burlington, MA 01803 617/221-1000 Telex: 948686 FAX: 617/221-1099 Itasca, Inc. : Itasca (Common Lisp, C) 2850 Metro Drive, Suite 300 Minneapolis, Minnesota 55425 612/851-3157 FAX 612/851-3157 Attn: Sandy Miezwa Object Databases Inc. : G-Base (Flavors, Common Lisp) 238 Broadway [This is really Graphael from France] Cambridge, MA 02139 617/354-4220 Symbolics also sells Joshua, an expert system shell that couples with Statice. The Statice-Joshua system probably does what you want --without having to build anything. Leslie A. Walko Database Research Group, Bellcore attila@bellcore.com
