Hi all,
I have an AT&T UNIX-PC (7300, 3B1) and I'd like to get some kind of
database program for it. I've asked the unix-pc groups, but to no avail.
I'm looking for public domain (or at least freely distributable) source
code. While venturing through the internet via ftp, I have located
"University INGRES." Is this a full-fledged dbms? Could someone please
send me some info on it? What is "postgres?"
Also seen on various archives are GNU's dbm library source and similarly,
the BSD db library. Are there some front ends that use this source?
I'd appreciate any information that you can help me with. I don't need
a _large_ system, just a system to use.
(It'd be running on a predominately single-user system -- I'd like to
use it to learn more about dbms's for my own sake)
