Proc. on Deductive and Object-Oriented Database Systems (DOOD '89), Kyoto, Dec. 1989. The participants got a preliminary copy of the proceedings. It is planned to have them published as a _real_ book, but I don't remember by whom (probably North Holland) nor when. I certainly haven't seen the book in a bookstore yet. In the 3rd Generation Database Manifesto by Messrs Stonebraker, Rowe, Lindasy, Gray, Carey, and Beech (which was reprinted in a recent ACM SIGMOD Record), the reference is given as "Altair Technical Report No. 30-89, GIP Altair, Le Chesenay, France". So, good luck in procuring a copy to everybody out there ... The book version of the proceedings containing the OODB Manifesto has been published in the meantime and should be publically available by now: W. Kim, J.-M. Nicolas, S. Nishio (eds.): "Deductive and Object-Oriented Databases" Proc. of the First International Conference on Deductive and Object- Oriented Databases (DOOD89), Kyoto, Japan, 4-6 December, 1989 North-Holland, 1990, ISBN 0 444 88433 5 (distributed in the US by Elsevier Science Publ., New York) (By the way: DOOD91 will be held in Munich in December. The submission deadline has just expired a few weeks ago and the review process has started. Calls for participation and advance program will be distributed at the end of July.
