Hi there. I'm interested in locating UNIFY users groups for discussion(s) on database tools. If you are posting for a users group, or have interest in tools for UNIFY, please e-mail me. Thanks. (yeah, yeah, I know that it's a small market share, but *I* don't make those decisions.) Cliff audi vide tace

Rather than responding by email (although I will do that too), I figured I'd take the opportunity to talk about our group and our mailing list again. The Unify Users Group of Northern California is perhaps the most active group of Unify users in the world. We hold monthly meetings (in Northern California, of course %^}), publish a monthly Newsletter, maintain a library of code and articles and technical tips, and sponsor and maintain an electronic mailing list for all users of Unify products. Membership in the group is $50/calendar year, prorated quarterly (so it's $37.50 to join now). Membership gains you a subscription to our Newsletter (quite useful and informative) and access to our library. Contributors to our Newsletter and presenters at out meetings receive a lovely UUG/NC T-shirt (they're also available for purchase). Just to give you an idea of the benefits of access to our library, it includes such things as: - scripts to produce a customized (and more readable) version of the schema listing - code fragments to perform automatic last-to-first autowrapping on multioccurrence forms in ACCELL/IDS - Chooks and an editor to deal with text fields in ACCELL - Chooks to provide arrays to ACCELL and much more. Newsletters include contributions from members, writeups of our meetings (in the past two months we've had presentations by Neuron Data and Object Design, with Nico Nierenberg of Unify coming next month), extractions from our emailing list, and other goodies. Our mailing list is open to the public. To add your name to the mailing list, send a message to "UUG-dist-request@Transact.COM" or "mrspoc!UUG-dist-request". The message must have a Subject: starting with the word "ADD" (case insensitive). You may either use your normal address (picked up off the From: header) or set up a mailbox for local redistribution by specifying an address on the Reply-To: header (which overrides the From: header). This list reaches many addresses (over 125) of which many are local redistributions! It's proved invaluable in helping people to solve problems and locate solutions or people with solutions. There ARE other Unify Users Groups around the country and the world. None are quite as active as ours, but they're there. To find out if there's one in your area, either call the local(est) sales office (in Texas, talk to Tom Stilz) or call Cris Funkhouser at Unify in Sacramento (916-920-9092). Cris has responsibility for working with Users Groups. Oh, yeah. If you want to send a query about joining our group (as opposed to adding your name to the mailing list), send it to "UUG-request@Transact.COM" -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ : Steven List @ Transact Software, Inc. :^>~ : : Chairman, Unify User Group of Northern California : : itkin@Transact.COM :
