Is anyone using an SQL Server, particularly the Microsoft LAN Manager and SQL Server? From what I understand, an SQL server is a system that provides an interface between the user's workstation (client) and various databases on the LAN (server). This is done through Transaction Processing, where the workstation queries the SQL server system on the LAN for data, rather than access the data directly as a file. All I currently know about it is from a Microsoft flyer, linking to OS/2 on a 286 file server. If anyone is currently using it, could you discuss the advantages and disadvantages? Thank you. -- Jeff Sheese - via FidoNet node 1:109/116 UUCP: ...!netsys!jsheese!jeffery ARPA: jeffery@jsheese.FIDONET.ORG (I am sole owner. My opinions represent my company.)
