Howdy, we are runnign 4.3 bsd (ish) UNIX (on MicroVax III's) on our admin network and todate have been trusting Ingres users, (running v5) on the above cluster. We were going to switch for MTXINU and a real 4.3 base to run Ingres V6.3, but we have found out to our dismay that ingres is planning to drop and in fact has dropped bsd4.3 from their lineup in v6.3+ up. We were shocked, and wonder who else has been placed in the same boat and how you have coped? We are about to switch to ultrix I guess since we seem to have no choice, but are now wondering if we can afford to keep working with ingres due to its lack of commitment to 4.3 and its smaller customer bases, if we plan long term we need a vendor who is also thinking that way, what have other people done?
