I need advice on getting no-wait reading from tty ports to work under System III (Xenix and PC/IX). With O_NDELAY, read ALWAYS returns 0 bytes even with good values in cc[4] and cc[5]. Tried several S III's. Herm Fischer reply to HFischer@eclb.ARPA or decvax!hermix!fischer please -------

O_NDELAY read was broken in UNIX System III as originally distributed. This was discovered (and fixed) at Geotronics Corp. shortly after I left and should have been fixed by your UNIX vendor. I am told that the fix is simple and obvious but that is all I can recall about it.
