more tidbits from someone who wishes to remain anonymous: I can't post from here, epecially about OS/2, so I thought you might like to for me. DBMS should have tried an apples/apples comparison - A 486 OS/2 box with 16MB RAM vs a single 486 OS/2 box with 24-32. The Oracle benchmarks would have SCO 2x+ faster than OS/2, and the cost differential about 2300 bucks. There is a special version of Oracle (with MPX 1.2 - not announced yet) which should boost performance amazingly for the MPX box. Oracle got 41 TPS with it. I don't know what they can get with 3.2.2 Unix and MPX 1.1, but I'm surprised DBMS didn't call Oracle on their published figures for the TP1, as I'm under the impression it's less than 18 for the current platform.
