Greetings fellow users. As part of my course this year I have to make use of the TITAN database program. In short my problem is this: how do I organise the database to provide a field whose size is greater than 1 line (or for that matter 1 screen) in length? how will I make a query on this field once it has been set up? is there any special text handling required by an 'awk' file to obtain the above? The answers to these problems would be greatly appreciated. I have heard many possible solutions, but have found nothing viable (ie, screen length records), or have incomplete information (eg, somehow Hansard (a role model database allows input of huge amounts of text, but I have no idea how to accomplish this). Just as an aside, the insertion form I have created already, accomodates all the record fields I require (except the text field as descibed above). In short my database will load 'news' documents (such as this one) for input and then allow queries upon the database. As would seem reasonable the size of the text field would probably have to allow for at least 25 (variable size) screens of text. If it is at all possible I would still like to treat one record as an entire news item.
