[comp.databases] Looking for Informix/SQL

rana@cs.uwa.oz.au (Ranadeva Peries) (05/02/91)

Does anyone know of the availability of Informix for Suns.

I am interested in getting some info on :

      *  availability
      * user interface (character based or window based)
      * available tools (report writers) etc
      *  interfacing with C
      *  performance
      *  support
      *  prices
      * who can supply (to Perth Australia)

This is to be used for several projects (both research and teaching).

Our environment is mainly Sun 4 (SunOS 4.1.1). The software will
be used from X window terminals running X11R4 from MIT.

Someone from Informix Software Inc. correct me if I'm wrong... but I think
Informix software is developed on Sun machines.

They should be able to help you with this.

If you're using this for teaching, be sure to ask about educational
discounts. We get an educational discount of up to 50%.

I'm using a Sun 4/280 running SunOS 4.1.1, so I expect you'll be able
to find something.
