[comp.databases] Unix database recommendations wanted

I am interested in porting some database applications from a MS-DOS / LAN
environment to a Unix environment.  The applications are written in C using
a Paradox engine.

I am interested in any high-quality engines that will run on the following
hardware platforms:  Silicon Graphics, Sun, Intel 386/486, NeXT.

If you have any information regarding quality, price, performance, price
for run-time licenses etc. please Email me and I will post anything 
interesting.
