We are currently running Mantrack on SCO Unix. Mantrack is written in Informix 4GL. This leads us to inquire if we should even consider *standardizing* on Informix 4GL for our corporate database needs: Hardware group databases running on PCs or Suns. Software group with PC/Novell desktops. Marketing with MAC desktops. All of these groups will need custom databases. 1) Is it advisible to code all of these in Informix 4GL ? 2) Has anyone ported in-house 4GL from SCO Unix to Novell/PC ? 3) Does anyone know_of/have an Informix 4GL {soft/hard}ware bug tracking system that will run on Novell 3.11 ? 4) We are aware of the 2+ years old Informix/Novell solution. How big is your application ? How fast ? ( We are aware that they are working on an NLM ) Basically, we are looking for "True Stories" that would make us feel good about standardizing on Informix code in *all* enviroments ! thanks, -- Greg Presedo-Floyd gregpf@momenta.com 415-969-3876 Mt View, CA 94043 "America`s energy policy: Produce more oil!"
