I have inserted the line: su - oracle -c '/u/oracle/bin/dbstart' in /etc/rc.d/8/userdef. Although that works fine when executed by root when the system is up I cannot get it to start Oracle upon bootup. Does anyone have any clues? Has anyone gotten oracle to come up automatically on bootup? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mark Citron -- Mark Citron mark@neurosci.usc.edu
