One of our sister divisions has been courted by DEC to run Ingres on a Dec multiprocessor 486 platform ( I think running SCO Unix ). Anyone have any experience with ingres on this platform? Having had dismal experiences with multiprocessor 5820's running Ingres, should we expect anything different from this platform? Is it truly in the same class ( performance wise ) as the Sun high end servers ( 4/490 ) and the IBM Rios 550's? Any comments would be welcome.
