I have some configuration questions about installing Oracle on a network. We currently have a Novell Netware 386 Version 3.11 running in the office. All of the PC's in the office have Cabletron Series 2000 ethernet boards. These are supposed to be compatible with TCP/IP. We would like to convert one of the PC's to a SCO Unix server running Oracle for SCO Unix. We also have ordered the MSDOS standalone Oracle 6.0. Questions: 1. Can we use the application tools on the Standalone MSDOS Oracle to communicate with the Unix Server or is there a difference between the Application Tools for MSDOS and the MSDOS Client Application Tools that Oracle markets separately. 2. Do we need any sort of software running on the PC in addition to the SQL*NET that comes with the Oracle Server package. (I know the Netware Server requires IPX on the client side). 3. Does anyone have experience with the Cabletron Series 2000 Network cars. Will they handle Netware and TCP/IP simultaneously? Thank you in advance for your help. Please either respond by posting to this group or sending me e-mail. Thanks again. Marc Chernoff uunet!fltk!eastbf!mc
