I'm just beginning to use window4gl in INGRES V6.3 and I am wondering how to built a flexible query. How can I use comparison operators, entered by some user into a field on the form to built up my query statement. Neither of the both mechanisms I know works: 1. ESQL: Create the select in an character variable. Declare this a cursor. 2. ABF/OSQ: Use the less flexible 'qualification' part in the where clause of your statement. All I find in the manuals and examples looks as if one can't use either of these features in window4gl (maybe it is just that I read the manuals not carefulely enough ?!) Could it be, that I can just use hard-coded where-clauses in window4gl? Thank you in advance, Peter Caligari (cale@ruf.uni-freiburg.de) PS: I would have phoned the hotline in germany/Frankfurt, but this is totally impossible since the line is always busy. They seem to be close to the total collapse - but this should not be my problem! I am getting somewhat angry about that 'hotline', and I would like to know if sombody out there has got similar problems with it?
