[comp.os.eunice] eunice 4.3 and clusters

edwards@uwmacc.UUCP (mark edwards) (08/26/87)

Has anyone gotten eunice 4.3 to work on a vax clusters.

We just recently got Eunice 4.3 and found that the shell's
temporary files are created with names that it can not read
again. This causes some very interesting problems.

 For example:

  The error message is

/tmp/sh#14260: can not find file (or words to that effect)

When we try to catch the file in progress, ls lists it as

  /tmp/sh?14260

When we use the wildcard "*", the file names expand to look like
  this:

  /tmp/sh!14260

I guess the question is, is this a problem or did I install some
  thing wrong?

  thanks
  mark
