I've been unable to get cron(1) to work correctly. The daemon runs; checks /usr/lib/crontab; and, apparently, forks off a shell process which receives the command line. The command, however, doesn't seem to be executed. This (example) line in /usr/lib/crontab: 46 16 * * 2-6 system /bin/date >! /sys/sys0/syscommon/sysmgr/crontest.log results in crontest.log being created at the appropriate time *but with no contents* (i.e. a zero-sized file). Does anyone have a solution? -- Steve Emmerson Inet: steve@umigw.miami.edu [128.116.10.1] SPAN: miami::emmerson (host 3074::) emmerson%miami.span@star.stanford.edu UUCP: ...!ncar!umigw!steve emmerson%miami.span@vlsi.jpl.nasa.gov "Computers are like God in the Old Testament: lots of rules and no mercy"
