[comp.std.internat] Looking for International ASCII Terminals

rick@io.ATT.COM (r.l.maus) (08/22/87)

Hi folks,

I am looking for a list of manufacturers that:

1) can supply terminals that can GENERATE full 8-bit (draft) International
ASCII Latin Alphabet #1 characters as well as display characters, or

2) can supply terminals that can switch between USASCII and Spanish native
typewriter character sets (again using LA #1 8-bit characters in the Spanish
case), or

3) although they cannot readily supply any of the above, are eager to discuss
such an undertaking.

Beyond these basic parameters, it would be nice to have other conveniences
such as: adjustable height display, crisp character sets, good phosphor
display qualities (eye-strain, foreground to background contrast, etc.),
lots of function keys and/or downloadable keyboard abilities and
ANSI terminal control sequences.

As is customary, please reply directly to me via electronic mail at the
address below. I will forward copies to people who send "me too" requests
and summarize to the net if interest is of sufficient volume.

				Thanks in advance,
