One thing I've noticed while perusing the various technical bookstores here in Silicon Valley is that there seems to be a dire lack of books on the topic of internationalization and nationalising of software. Is this due to poor buyers locally, or is there indeed a significant lack of books on this vital and important topic area? I'm most interested in books that talk about the cultural and sociological differences between cultures (eg. cultulral contexts), as well as the inevitable "how-to" books (though I'd be inclined to use HP's excellent NLS system myself). Comments? Anyone out there have any books on the subject that they'd care to recommend? Conference proceedings? ACM/IEEE or other journals on the subject? Mail to me and I can summarize if there is interest. Thanks! -- Dave Taylor guest of HP Labs taylor@hplabs.hp.com
