If a user community of this size (usenet) can't get people to learn how to crosspost articles appropriately, what makes you think user group standards could ever amount to anything? User organization will be effective only in the broad directions for Open Systems. Users can be most effective in giving direction to Open Systems by becoming contributing participants on a regular basis in the various standards committees which are attempting to define various aspects of open systems. Also, make your desires and reasons for open systems clear to vendors of IT products and systems. -- =============================================================================== | Frank Andrews email: frank.andrews@sandiego.NCR.COM | | NCR Corporation mail: 9900 Old Grove Road | | Network Products Division - San Diego San Diego, CA 92131 | ===============================================================================
