I just noticed that the Uniforum vendor exhibits are 10-4 Wednesday through Friday. Unfortunatley, that means that people attending 3 Usenix tutorials or full technical sessions, will not be able to visit the exhibits. I know there must be a lot of factors that complicate the scheduling, but it does seem desirable to avoid this situation. Perhaps it would be a good idea to try and schedule things so that Usenix ended a day earlier or started a day later then the exhibits. Or perhaps the Uniforum people could be persuaded to keep the exhibits open later one night. -- Ken Mandelberg | {akgua,sb1,gatech}!emory!km USENET Emory University | km@emory CSNET,BITNET Dept of Math and CS | km.emory@csnet-relay ARPANET Atlanta, Ga 30322 | Phone: (404) 727-7963

I've been going to USENIX Conferences since 1983, and I find that during the technical presentations there is always at least one session (no matter how they run things) that, for me, has no interesting papers. That's when I go to visit the /vendor/show and poke fun at the marketroids. Since these shows aren't that big (Comdex, it ain't) it is possible to get through the /vendor/show in three hours, if you don't dawdle at any particular booth too long. Erik E.
