It's time to get those registrations in! The tutorials are beginning to fill and the best hotel rooms are going fast. If you don't have registration material yet, please call the USENIX conference office at 213-592-1381. This Winter's USENIX Conference features six different half-day technical sessions including the unveiling of major research in UNIX-based workstations at CMU and MIT (in alphabetical order). Both these schools have major industrial-cooperative research grants and are running networks of thousands of UNIX-based workstations. In addition to the workstations sessions during Thursday and Friday mornings (Feb 11-12, 1988), the parallel afternoon sessions on Thursday include Advances in Network Protocols and Systems Administration. Friday's afternoon sessions include Kernel Papers and a special section of Miscellaneous Topics and three papers on UNIX process migration. The conference promises to be a fun one and Dallas's weather may cooperate quite nicely. Of course, the UNIFORUM vendor show (hundreds of vendors ought to be at the Infomart) is always fun (and runs Tuesday through 4 pm Thursday or so, I think). Don't miss out!
