We are looking for a few participants for a panel discussion at a Birds of a Feather session at the upcoming Usenix C++ Conference in Denver in October. The subject of the discussion is "Experiences Developing in C++". We want to focus on what it's really like using C++ for development, what significant benefits and drawbacks have been seen by those with real experience using it, war stories so those of us considering it may avoid some land mines. We'd like to get a realistic feel for C++ development from other developers. The BoF is being sponsored by the Front Range Unix Users Group (FRUUG) on Tuesday night October 18th from 8-10 pm at the Marriott (the Conference Hotel). Since the C++ conference will be local for us we thought we'd hold our Oct meeting in conjunction with it so we could take advantage of the convenient access to many of the foremost members of the C++ community that we wouldn't have access to otherwise. If you (or someone you know) have some experiences to share and are attending the conference, please contact me about being a panelist (it's EaSy and FuN!) Contact Carol Meier via email at meier@boulder.colorado.edu or phone at work 303-443-4223 or home 303-938-8031 or any other way you can find me!
