Does anyone know of sources for Unibus, SBI, or CI to IBM channel adapters other than Systems Concepts in San Francisco. For Unibus adapters, I am particularly interested in those which have enough buffering in them to permit the use of 200ips, 6250bpi tape drives on the 780 Unibus. Thanks, Bill [johnston@lbl-csam]

ACC (now Advanced Computer Communications formerly Associated Computer Consultants) in Santa Barabara makes some although I can't render any judgement on it's performance. -Ron

IBM makes such a contraption; it's called the Device Access Control Unit, or DACU; one end connects to a block multiplexer channel, one end connects to a UNIBUS cage, and it is controlled by an IBM PC. The IBM software package for IP/TCP on IBM mainframes supports this. Contact your IBM rep for details, or the VM Interface Program for TCP/IP Support Group, 301-921-1931. I have no direct information about how good either the hardware or software products are. John Nagle
