If you want a good Italian-American meal, and don't mind wearing a coat and tie (required), try The Maison Marconi (a.k.a. Marconi's) at 106 W. Saratoga street. They serve lunch (12:00-3:30) and dinner (5:00-8:00), don't take reservations, and are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Everything is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. Easy to fit into the USENIX schedule? No. Worth going if you can? Yes. Mark

Oh, hey, right - that reminds me: "Little Italy" is where much (most?) of Baltimore's Italian population is concentrated. The really nice thing is that there is a restaurant on almost every corner (one corner I know of has 5!). Almost every one of them is good, not too formal, and reasonable priced. I'd suggest just going and reading the menus and see what appeals to you. Little Italy is about 8 blocks East of the Convention Center on Pratt Street (the street "in front" of the Convention Center). It's a reasonable walk and the neighborhood is safe. Happy eating. -- Adam S. Moskowitz ...!(backbone)!{necntc,encore}!necis!adamm "I can whistle, I can sing, I can do 'most anything. I can sport and I can play, I can dance The Shepherds' Hey."
