How about it? There will probably be a fair number of NeXT users (we're sending two), would-be NeXT users, and NeXT folk (including Avi -- Mr. Mach) attending. Well, then again, we may be grabbing Avi and taking him back to College Park:-). Is there interest out there? Are any NeXT folk willing to line up to be grilled, questioned, and otherwise made the center of attention? Anyone interested in swapping interesting NeXT bugs, stories, and pointers? Hmmm.... now to find a time that doesn't conflict with any other interesting BOFS (If anyone from USENIX is listening, please consider this a request for a BOF/time/room/whatever else is needed). Follow ups to this suggestion should probably be kept in comp.org.usenix. Mark

Well, it doesn't look good for a NeXT BOF at USENIX... It doesn't look like many NeXT users will be attending. NeXT is not going to have a presence (Avie will only be there for one day to teach his tutorial). And response has been underwhelming. On the other hand, I would like to meet with other NeXT people. I suggest that instead of having an official NeXT BOF (official BOF -- an oxymoron?), we have a NeXT BOF over dinner one of the nights (Wed or Thur would probably be best for most people). I'll post a notice at USENIX giving the details. And, just before we go, I will audibly announce the event in a manner that every NeXT user will recognize -- by making the shrieking scream that one makes when one is doing many important things on a NeXT and the display server dies:-) Mark p.s. NeXT: It's still not too late for you to register on-site, bring down a few NeXTs, and get involved with your market on a technical basis.
