Computing Systems, published quarterly by the USENIX Association in conjunction with the University of California Press, is a refereed scholarly journal devoted to chronicling the development of advanced computing systems. It uses an aggressive review cycle providing authors with the opportunity to publish new reesults quickly, usually within six months of submission. Several individuals have requested information on how to contribute to Computing Systems. So, here it is: Information for Contributors Manuscripts should be sent in input form via uucp to journal@usenix.org Alternatively, manuscripts may be sent to: Managing Editor Computing Systems 2560 Ninth Street, Suite 215 Berkeley, CA 94710 in quadruplicate, together with a cover sheet listing the authors' names and telephone numbers, the title of the article, and a 75-300 word summary. The references should have the last name(s) of the author(s) and the year of publication, enclosed in brackets, e.g.: [Deitel 1984] [Kernighan & Ritchie 1978] but [Accetta et al. 1986] (for works with three or more authors). Bibliographical references should be of the form J. R. Bell, Threaded Code, Communications of the ACM, 16(6):370-372, June 1973. or H. M. Deitel, An Introduction to Operating Systems, New York: Addison-Wesley, 1984. Figures and Illustrations For each figure or illustration two (2) high quality glossy prints, original laser output, or original drawings should be submitted. Identify each figure or illustration on the back to reduce confusion. Photocopies are unacceptable as they will not print satisfactorily. Tables and Equations Tables should supplement the text, not duplicate it. Please use tbl and eqn whenever possible. Printing and Publication Authors will be informed of the acceptability or rejection of their submissions as rapidly as possible, typically no more than six weeks after receipt of the article. Authors will receive a ``Consent to Publish'' form soon after acceptance of their article. The University of California requires this to be signed prior to publication. Each author of an article will receive two copies of the issue of Computing Systems containing the work. The principal author of each article will receive 25 offprints of the article. An order form for additional offprints will be sent each author.
