peter@usenix.ORG (Peter H. Salus) (03/15/90)
I am in the process of trying to set up a newsgroup called comp.org.sug, parallel to comp.org.usenix for the Sun User Group. I have posted a call for balloting on news.announce.newgroups, but many interested parties may not look at that. If you are interested in the formation of such a newsgroup, send me email saying "I vote for the formation of comp.org.sug" [or, in fact, "I am against..."] to peter@uunet.uu.net by April 3. I will post the results of the vote the next week. Peter

Peter, In the interests of clarity over abbreviation, I would consider comp.org.sun-user-group more informative than comp.org.sug esp. since the local affiliate is a "slug" & I never hear the word "sug" mentioned in normal discourse. (it's exactly 14 characters so it fits OK as well) --Ed Edward Vielmetti, member Southeastern Michigan Sun Local User Group, aka SemiSLUG. "Half a slug is better than none.'
