If you're planning on going to the April USENIX C++ conference in San Francisco and are on a budget, you may wish to shop around for hotels. The special conference rates at the Marriot are $125/night. The Marriot's normal rates are ~$200. In contrast, there's a hotel right across the street from the Marriot called the Mosser Victorian Hotel which only charges $42/night for a single. (1-800-227-3804, 1-415-986-4400) The only other hotel in the same block, according to my SF hotel guide, is the Le Hotel Meridien, which has rates ~$170.
