There will be a Works in Progress session at the Anaheim conference, 2:00 Friday June 15. As of this moment, the speakers will be: Brad Templeton, ClariNet Communications Corp., on his dynamic USENET feed software which is just going to beta test. John Kohl, Digital Equipment Corporation/Project Athena, on Kerberos version 5. Bjorn Satdeva, /sys/admin, inc., on Fdist. Fdist is a system for automatic file distribution in an hetrogeneous system environment. A domain scheme, similar to that used on the Internet for electronic mail forwarding, is used to determine which hosts shall receive a given file. A modified rdist is used as the underlaying transport protocol for this project. The first version of this system has been in use since early this year, and the second generation is almost completed. We have time for more speakers. This is an opportunity to get up and speak for 10 minutes on your current work and, perhaps, present research results that were too recent to be included in the conference program. Individuals wishing to make a Work in Progess presentation should bring a summary of their work, including your name and presentation title, on a typed, double-spaced, single sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper for display prior to the session. Or, preferably, send it via email to lab@usenix.org . Time slots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Lisa Bloch lab@usenix.org +1 617 523 1664
