Usenix / Uniforum Sun and CERT Security BoF Announcement The Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center (CERT/CC) and Sun Microsystems, Inc. would like to invite you to a Birds of a Feather (BoF) session at 8:30 PM on Wednesday, January 23. The session is entitled: "UNIX Security Issues", and is currently planned to be held in the Emerald Room in the Loews Anatole Hotel*. CERT/CC is a DARPA sponsored group at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute chartered to assist the Internet community with computer security incident response and prevention. Sun Microsystems, Inc., headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., is a leading worldwide supplier of network-based distributed computing systems, including professional workstations, servers and UNIX operating system and productivity software. The CERT/CC presentation will include an overview of current activities including incident response, workshops, vendor programs, mailing lists, and the CERT-System. CERT will also discuss techniques that can be used to build your own incident response capability. Sun will discuss vendors' roles with computer security. Sun will also present its current security plans, products and programs. Highlights include a description of Sun's highly regarded Customer Warning System for security incident handling as well as information on upcoming security-related products. After the presentations, there will be ample time for questions and discussion with the panel. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
