Does anyone know if any progressive or industrial bands will be in
the Dallas area during USENIX week (Jan 21-26)? Locations and times
would be good... Also, is there a local music rag for the area?

Get the ``Dallas Observer,'' our alternate weekly newspaper. It contains
complete listings and reviews of the bands and shows you're looking for,
live theatre, movies, and restaurants. I'm going to try to get some up to
the Grand Kempinski, but with well over a thousand people there, they'll
go fast. Go carefully across the highway that the hotel sits on to the
Prestonwood Mall. You'll find free copies of the paper available at the
book stores and music shops there.

In the mall, you'll also find a semi-nice (it's more yuppified than the
downtown version) English pub there called ``The Mucky Duck'', complete
with darts and around 8 nice, thick, imported ales on draft, plus about 50
bottled beers. The pub grub is ok (fish and chips, bangars and mash,
shepherd's pie), and they have live music there in the evenings. They're
open for lunch.
