Having trouble coming up with the $$$ for conference registration?  The
terminal room volunteer application deadline is approaching! 

------------------ Call for Terminal Room Volunteers ------------

Subject: Free Registration to Nashville Usenix Conference Technical Talks

The Terminal Room will return at the Opryland Usenix conference.  If you  
work in the room for 10 hours you will receive free registration to the
Technical Talks (Wed - Fri).  We need a total of eight people.  The
terminal room will be open:

 June 10 Monday     11:30 am - 2:00 am
      11 Tuesday     9:30 am - 2:00 am
      12 Wednesday   7:30 am - 2:00 am
      13 Thursday    7:30 am - 2:00 am (closed 6-8 pm for the Reception)
      14 Friday      7:30 am - 2:00 pm

An interested applicant should be able to (minimally):

    * Answer questions on use of terminal room equipment.
      Manuals on terminal/modem/printer operation will be provided.

    * Manage a queue (of people) waiting to use the equipment.

If you are interested in working, please fill in the following and
return it to podet@usenix.org.  All applications must be received by 
Monday, May 6th 5:00 pm PST.

Your 10 hours of work will entitle you to free registration for the
Technical Talks ONLY!  You will need to make other arrangements for
transportation, accomodation, and tutorial registration.

1) Will you be able to attend the Usenix Conference if you are not chosen to
   work in the terminal room? absolutely/probably/maybe/no way

2) Are you a student?
  a) If you are a student, have you applied for a student scholarship for this 
     conference? 

3) Are you planning to take tutorials?  If so, which days?

4) Have you attended a Usenix conference before?

5) If you are chosen to work in the terminal room when would you arrive
   in Nashville?  

6) Are there particular talks that you don't want to miss: 
   (List day and time;  Refer to the abbreviated schedule at the end of this 
   posting for times)

7) Are there other talks that you'd prefer not to miss, but would miss if
   necessary ?

8) Are there BoFs which you are planning to attend: (Refer to the abbreviated 
   listing at the end of this posting) 

9) Are there other times that you know you will NOT want to work: e.g.
   do you hate to get up before noon, or stay up past 10pm, or do you
   have other commitments that would prevent you from working at some other
   particular time. 

10) Please describe in one paragraph why you want to work in the terminal 
    room and what your qualifications are?

Applications will be chosen based on a combination of factors which include 
(not necessarily in this order):
    an inability to attend the conference otherwise
    hours available for work (and flexibility of those hours)
    student status
    level of interest in helping conference attendees
