[comp.edu] first course in CS

Thanks to all who answered my first request for suggestions for teaching
computer science to first year students.  

Now, is anyone familiar with either of these books:

1.  Abelson & Sussman, "Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs"
(MIT press)

2. Miller & Miller, "Programming by Design: A first course in structured
programming" (Wadsworth)

?
