[comp.edu] New newsgroup proposal for AT&T UNIX Writer's Workbench

dpbaudra@ihlpe.ATT.COM (Braune) (09/15/87)

AT&T UNIX* Writer's Workbench** (both the Collegiate Edition and Interactive)
has a significant number of dedicated and supportive users at many high schools,
colleges, and universities in the USA and a Writer's Workbench users'
group (WUG) is supported by Dr. C. Smith at Colorado State University.
AT&T has responded to recent, increased interest in Writer's Workbench
Collegiate Edition by upgrading the software and including it in the Data
Systems Division Offer Program. The national introduction of the Offer
will occur in October 1987.

To improve interactions between present and potential Writer's Workbench
users, a new news group is being proposed to address Writer's Workbench
issues.

The news group would be named comp.edu.wwb and would include:
	- user group announcements
	- Experiences, problems fixes, and add-ons from the user community
	- New applications of Writer's Workbench

I will tally the responses to this solicitation and pursue establishing the
group if enough positive responses are received. My e-mail and land
mail addresses are as follows:
