>	At Rutgers, anyone taking a higher level computer science (>
>300 level course) automatically get access to Usenet, Internet
>(combination of all interconnected networks), CSnet, NSFnet, FIDOnet
>and BITNET. The problem is that most students do not know this! We
>use usenet as internal electronic bboard. Each class has its own
>bboard for questions/answers. Next, we have ru.qa (rutgers questions
>and answer) bboard for user questions (How to send mail to so in so?
>How do you use this function on a sun?) from any machine using netnews
>software (most of unix machines here).

At Bradley, we have a AT&T 3B5 (soon to be 3B15) devoted just to
student use. They can write programs, use wordprocessing/spelling
	correctors, e-mail, games...whatever.

ANY student at Bradley can get a login on this machine an have free
access to the Usenet and uucp, and the gateways to BITNET, ARPANET,
CSnet. We do monitor what they do post to the Usenet,
to make sure the posting is appropriate. (They learn quickly) But
they can basically send as much e-mail as they want. (within reason)
Anyway the majority of our phone bill is for Usenet groups not e-mail.

Bradley also has an internal Notes groups for infomation/questions
specific to Bradley. We also have a special project called Residence
Hall of the Future ("Oooooo"). Students in this project get a PC,
with bundled software (Lotus, PFS Professional Write...), printer
and a 9600 baud line to our local network of campus computers. We also
many have departmental computer labs. (Art, Business...)

If you want to talk someone about Residence Hall for the Future,
	or admission, contact:
