I have a friend that I met through BITNET who is a "high school" age student in France. He's planning on coming over to the USA this summer and wants to spend a few days to a few weeks learning more about computers. His background is listed below. I and he would appreciate your looking it over and giving me some ideas for his summer visit. Also if you can think of anyone you know who could also provide pertinent input let me know. -------------------------My Friend's Background------------------------ Well, about my qualifications : It's not very simple since school is very different between France and USA, but I'll try to explain. I have my 'baccalaureat section C (mathematics)' which is the diplom you 're suppose to get at about 18. I 'm now in a 'CPGE (Classe Preparatoir aux Grandes Ecoles)' which may mean :'class to preapir to great schools' (I cannot say High because I think that High school has a different meaning, but I don't know which. It lasts two years, so in July, I will have finished my frst year. The next year, I will try to get in a school of enginneers (like Polytechnic, which is as good as your M.I.T. I think) So, in less than two years, I'm an 'eleve ingenieur' (pupil enginneer??) I have no idea what it can represent for you ! About my journey : I would go alone. I already know NY, Princeton (between Philadephia and NY) About my knowledge : I have published (I was 15, the first time) programs for Apple II (in machine language of course) in a magazine. I know very well my Apple II (I have writen a multitasking for it) but I don't know my Mac yet (too early, but I will learn) But don' forget : I don't want to get mad learning furing my hollydays ! So, I think University or constructors would organize something that would interest me. Do you have any more questions ? --------------------------end of original message------------------------- Thanks for any input you can give me on this matter. -Eric. ------- ___________________________________________________________ | Bitnet/Usenet |$0.00| | |_____| | Eric H.
