My friend (who has no access to usenet) was teaching a course in 4gl. After 1/3 of the course, he found himself having no more material left to cover. So he had to assign projects to fullfill the rest of the semester. Has any body in this group ever taught this course and could share with us how you managed it? Please send me email. I would post responses upon request. Francis francis%proxftl.uucp@bikini.cis.ufl.edu

In teaching more traditional programming languages at the University of British Columbia, I covered 6 in one semester (to seniors who already knew two languages). I would think that a course should not be based on a single language, but on techniques and types of applications, on a class of languages (doing a comparative study), or showing the variety of concepts available in different languages.
