[comp.edu] Computer Assisted Instruction

GWA100@PSUVM.BITNET (Gerald Aungst) (10/28/88)

I will be doing an independent study project next semester in Computer
Assisted Instruction. Are there any professional journals that deal
with this topic, or any good texts that I might look to for a starting
point? My main area of interest would be in Health Education, but any
general information would help.

Secondly, I would like to do some kind of programming project along with
the research, and was wondering if anyone had some experience with this.
I am considering using either Turbo Pascal, or HyperCard, both on the
Macintosh. My reasons for this are that I am familiar with the Mac, and
feel it is ideally suited for this type of application (i.e. easy for the
user, etc.), and that I am a competent programmer only in Pascal (some,
including myself sometimes, may laugh at the "competent" part of that).

If you have any suggestions in any way, shape, or form concerning this,
please E-mail replies. Only post suggestions if they might be of concern
to the whole net, or if you cannot reach me by e-mail.

Thanks very much for your time, consideration, and expertise.

-Gerald
