	COGNITIVE SCIENCE PROGRAM at INDIANA UNIVERSITY
  
	Indiana University has initiated a Program in Cognitive Science.  
The program will incorporate faculty from a number of departments, including
Psychology, Computer Science, Linguistics, Philosophy, Neurosciences and 
several other departments.  A number of new faculty lines in Cognitive 
Science are expected to become available within the next 2 years.
As many as four of these joint appointments may be filled in 1988-1989.
 
	Both the BA and PhD in Cognitive Science will be offered beginning 
in Fall 1990 as joint degrees with a second major in another department.
A number of research assistantships and other forms of financial support 
are expected to be available for Fall, 1989 for graduate students in Cognitive 
Science.  Other forms of support are available through the affiliated 
departments and from faculty research grants.
