UNIBASE is now operating a gateway link between the FrEdmail
system and UUCP. FrEdmail is a distributed
mail/conferencing system which operates on Apple II
computers. It currently links approximately 75 schools
across the U.S., with sites extending down as far as
Argentina. Because it is school based, its content relates
to the elementary and secondary school system. The system
supports both private mail and echo mail similar to uucp
mail and news. Addressing is done similar to the uucp mail
method of addressing. Users from the uucp world who would
like to establish contacts with people on the FrEdmail
network can post directly to the main echo group on
FrEdmail, and once contacts have been established, may
communicate directly to points on the FrEdmail network.
On previous occasions, Patt Harring has floated maps of CMS
through comp.edu. A more recent map will be made available
shortly. In the meantime, anyone wanting to establish links
to classroom teachers on FrEdmail should address mail to the
following:

Ideas is an echo group, and sdsu (San Diego State
University) is the gateway link for Unibase. To send mail
directly to someone on the network, use the following:
