National Symposium On Educational Computing
Theme: Towards A Wider Use Of Computers In Education

Participation At The Symposium
The Malaysian Council for Computers-in-Education (MCCE) and the
Faculty of Education, Universiti of Malaya will jointly organise a
National Symposium on Educational Computing (EDUCOMP '89) on 16th -
18th November, 1989 at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
The main objectives of the Symposium are to promote and popularise the
use of computers in all aspects of education, and to disseminate to
educators the latest developments in educational computing. The theme
of EDUCOMP '89 is "Towards A Wider Use Of Computers In Education".
Teachers, academicians, educationists and members of the public are
invited to take part in the Symposium. The registration fee is M$80
for MCCE members and M$140 for non-MCCE members. The fee covers a set
of symposium materials, lunches, teas and the Symposium dinner.
As the number of places is limited, those interested are requested to
submit their registration forms early. Non-MCCE members may wish to
become MCCE members to enjoy the rerduced registration fee.

The last day for the receipt of registration is 28th October, 1989.
After this date a late fee of M$30 will be imposed in addition to
the registration fees.
Call For Working Papers
Those interested in presenting working papers for the Symposium are
requested to submit their abstracts, latest by 22nd July, 1989 and
full papers by 2nd, September, 1989. Notification of acceptance of
paper will be sent out to the author concerned, latest by 5th August,
1989. Authors presenting papers will be entitled to the reduced
registration fee of M$40 (MCCE member) and M$100 (Non-MCCE member).
Papers in Bahasa Malaysia or in the English Language should be
original and on topics related to educational computing. The broad
areas of interest include the following:
Educational Computing Concepts
Computer Systems and Technology in Education
Computer Aided Learning
Educational Software/Courseware Development
Computer Based Educational Management
Expert Systems in Education
Applications of Software Packages
Educational Computing Networks and Databases
Uses of Computers in the Classroom.
