[comp.edu] Radilogy/Onc. Degree advice sought

awang@dukie.East.Sun.COM (Angus Wang - Sun BOS Software) (10/10/89)

I am curious to know what sort of routes there are for graduate
degrees in the area of Radiology-Oncology, WITHOUT having to go
through Medical School.

I know this sounds highly unususal, but when I was in graduate school
in computer science I did work for a joint Cardiology/Physiology group
for my thesis work, and became interested in biological/medical/biomedical
applications of computers. Areas such as imaging, visualization, and
rendering are of interest to me, as do many of the biological sciences
areas, such as radiology, and physiology.

Would it be more feasible/practical to stick with computer science and
concentrate in an area closely related to these fields. Or is there a
M.S. in Radiology/Oncology (I probably have most of the basic course
requirements...as far as satisfying pre-med undergrad requirements).

Any info/suggestions/advice would be of great help.
