SEVENTH CANADIAN CONFERENCE ON ENGINEERING EDUCATION SEPTIEME CONGRES CANADIEN DE L'EDUCATION EN INGENIERIE University of Toronto 27-28 June 1990 The Seventh Canadian Conference on Engineering Education (CCEE) will be held in Toronto on June 27 and 28, 1990. For the first time, joint sessions will be held with the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). All CCEE sessions and functions and all joint sessions with ASEE will be held at the University of Toronto. In a marked departure from previous CCEE and ASEE conference, both the joint sessions and the CCEE-only sessions which follow contain a high international content. This emphasis is deliberate, given that Canada and the U.S. are now in the free-trade era, and that both countries are grappling with the challenge of competing on the world scene in engineering, science and technology, interpreted broadly to include trained manpower and ideas as well as commodities. A global viewpoint has been adopted in selecting eminent invited speakers for both the joint CCEE-ASEE sessions and and the CCEE-only plenary sessions. The joint CCEE-ASEE sessions and the CCEE-only plenary sessions provide a systematic framework for the development of the overall conference theme in terms of Research, Education, and Marketplace. Research is the instrument of advancement, Education its facilitator, and the Marketplace the arena in which the advancement must be managed. For more information, contact: G.M.T.
