[comp.edu] Request for comparitive education costs studies

I am looking for some information on comparative studies of the cost of
providing a quality education in engineering and the sciences with respect
to other disciplines.  We have some legislators in our state who are laboring
under some ridiculous assumptions in this area who need to be educated.  I
would like to do so, and what I need is factual evidence (based on quality
programs) of the difference in costs between the scineces and other educational
areas.  I am especially interested in anything from well respected public
institutions like the University of Texas and the University of Michigan
which have greatly enhanced their national reputations in recent years.
