Does anyone know whether applying jointly to CS Graduate PhD Programs with your fiance is a good idea? Does this decrease the chances of both parties? Is it better to "informally" relate the situation to the admissions people, and if so, how is this best accomplished? Is it better to just apply separately, cross your fingers, and hope for some reasonable intersection of acceptances? I am particularly interested in hearing from professors who have served on graduate admissions committees. We are both reasonably good candidates with probably similar chances of admission, although are backgrounds are somewhat different (so I don't believe either would drag the other down). Thank you for any and all input/insight! -Debbie
